Situated near a number of popular parks and trails, Summit West is very ideal for those who love going outdoor and doing recreational activities. Living in this area puts you close to many of Bend’s outdoor recreation areas including Phil’s Trail, Shevlin Park, Tumalo Falls, and hundreds of miles of trails for mountain biking, trail running, or hiking. - Distancing is a must when you visit a Bend Park & Recreation District park, trail, recreation center, and even the river.
- Stay six feet from others, indoors and out.
- Wash hands before and after any visit to a park or trail.
- Visit less popular parks and trails or at less popular times.
- Go only with your household or small groups. No large groups.
- Keep dogs on leash; It’s the law in Bend except at designated off-leash areas.
- Bring your own drinking water. Drinking fountains are not available.
- If you are sick, stay home
Shevlin Park

Shevlin Park is a haven located less than three miles from Bend and a perfect location for hiking, jogging, nature watching, fishing, cross country skiing and picnicking. There is an extensive trail and pathway system providing for both summer and winter uses. The park is also the site of Cougar Camp, a popular youth day camp offered by the District in the summer months.
Phil’s Trail

Phil’s Trail is a 12.4 mile out and back trail located near Bend, Oregon. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
This is one of the most popular mountain biking trailheads in the Pacific Northwest. Numerous trails of varying difficulty originate at this trailhead, including Phil’s Trail. This area has quick access to Bend with a small parking area and a toilet.
Tumalo Falls

Tumalo Falls is a 97-foot (30 m) waterfall on Tumalo Creek, in the Cascade Range west of Bend in the U.S. state of Oregon. At nearly 100 feet tall, this splendor along Tumalo Creek is the most popular waterfall located within the Bend city limits.
