Memorial Day 2020: Activities In The Comforts of Your Home

by www-541homesales-com

Memorial Day weekend is traditionally a time for Oregonians to get outside. Usually, they are travelling to their favorite vacation destinations, and welcoming the return of summer. But this time, Oregonians will celebrate this occasion differently.

With many parks and natural places reopening with the governor’s new order, expect trails, parks and other outdoor locations to have some crowded conditions this weekend. So we advise everyone to just visit the parks and cemeteries close to home or to just simply stay at home.

In line with the upcoming Memorial Day celebration, Gov. Kate Brown also calls on Oregonians to stay close to home and to support local businesses and communities.

If you’re thinking that staying at home would be boring, think again! Here are a few activities that you might just enjoy with your family in the comforts of your home:

Playing Games

Sure, there are hundred games that you could play. There are the classic hide-and-seek, fun card games like Uno, Go Fish and Crazy Eights, and the most challenging Jenga that you could play with a twist! You could also play some board games that the whole family would surely love. Check out some board games perfect for each age group here.

Family Movie Night

A family watching movie in the evening at home.

Watching movies is a lot more fun (especially comedy films) when you have someone to share them with! You could make use of your lounge room as an alternative to a film theater. Close some curtains, volume up your speakers, have some popcorns and chips beside you, then you’re all set! Just don’t forget to make sure that the movie that you’ll be watching will be appropriate for all the ages of the ones you are with.

Creating DIY Projects

DIY projects are fun and helpful, especially for kids. You could look inside your home and see if there is anything that could be fixed or enhanced like transforming a plain white tee into a colorful one! That for sure is an exciting activity. Check out some of the DIY projects that you might want to start creating soon!

Baking Sweets

Bored with the plain old cookie that you’re always eating? Bake and transform it into a more delicious one! You don’t need to be experts. You could just search the web for some easy recipes. You’d be delighted because there are a lot to choose from! Here are some easy dessert recipes that you could make with 5 ingredients (or less!).

Do a Backyard Picnic

Packing the picnic basket is part of the fun, so get the kids involve. Make some home made sandwiches and a fruit punch. Make sure to lay the bedding on a part with more shade to avoid being exposed to the sun. Don’t forget to play some music to turn your simple picnic into a classical dream or rhythm and blues fantasy. Check this website for some decor tips and delicious recipes you could check out to pack for your picnic.

Bottom Line
