It was in March when the COVID-19 pandemic made a huge impact on the world. Bend Oregon Real Estate being one of the most affected industry. But weeks after, there are positive signs that buyers are now ready to return to real estate market.

A report from Zillow shows that there is an additional signal in home shopping behavior of the buyers. There has also been higher online requests to connect with a real estate agent then they were a year ago. These are encouraging signs that the real estate market is now picking up.

“The uptick in people browsing for-sale listings combined with high-intent requests to be connected with an agent reveals the resilience of Americans’ interest in shopping for homes on Zillow,” said Zillow Economist Jeff Tucker.”

Whether conducted virtually or in person, real estate showings have rebounded. It confirms an underlying demand in the economy according to data from ShowingTime.

“The decline has stopped,” said ShowingTime Chief Analytics Officer Daniil Cherkasskiy. “Showings are rebounding. Our data indicates they continue to increase across the board, jumping 39 percent from two weeks ago, which represents the largest increase since the onset of COVID-19,” he added.

“We’re seeing innovation coming out of pain, as agents have quickly embraced virtual showings to keep their businesses going,” said ShowingTime President Michael Lane.

Home buyers want virtual tours and are warming to the idea of buying a home without visiting it in person according to a recent survey done by Realtor.com. This is understandable given the situation we’re in at the moment because of COVID-19.
